What Does Make Tissue Paper Hygienic?

There are many research studies conducted by different companies and we can settle that tissue papers are better at cleaning hands, face or surfaces compared to air drying.

ETS, for instance, has funded a number of independent studies conducted by leading microbiologists at universities from many European countries. Throughout the years, there have been other research companies that conducted several studies. They all agree upon and confirm that the superior hygiene properties of tissue paper for drying hands.

ECCMID, which is a Swiss-based non-profit scientific international organization, recently done the research and found out that tissue papers are a better option to choose for drying hands. Because they are more efficient in removing bacteria or viruses from hands compared to air dryers.  

Tissue Paper’s Impact on Preventing Diseases

Professor Hans Rosling from Karolinska Institute in Sweden has stated that the last major outbreak of cholera which occurred in Chile was confirmed to have been spread by dirty textile kitchen towels.

He has further commented in an article in the Perini Journal, that paper kitchen towels might possibly have prevented that outbreak of disease and public health tragedy.

Is Tissue Paper Sustainable?

Tissue papers can be considered to be sustainable. Regardless they were made of sustainably harvested wood fiber trees or recycled paper, demand for tissue products ensures that the resources used to make them will be plentiful for generations to come.

In addition, some companies use industrial forests to harvest the raw material they need. To maintain the circle they plant new trees. In this way, natural forests are not harmed.
